voestalpine cares run: Toghether we move the world!

On April 15, 2023, we were launching the new international and Group-wide employee movement initiative voestalpine cares run – an initiative with which our employees can not only improve their own health, but also do good for people in need. Employees in all Group companies can collect points through various sporting activities – together and worldwide. We convert these points called “cares points” into donations and distributes them to international aid projects. In this way, we move the world together!

voestalpine cares run

This is meant in the truest sense of the word. All around the world, they can work together to collect digital “cares points” while running, walking, hiking, handcycling, or wheelchair driving. Donations are made whenever our employees have reached a certain number of points.

In addition to the EUR 300,000 that has been donated to provide emergency aid to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, a further EUR 400,000 has been earmarked for the voestalpine cares run. These donations will go

  • to the Austrian Red Cross’s emergency aid for families in need,
  • to UNICEF’s back to school Digital Learning program that gives Ukrainian children on the run digital access to educational opportunities, and
  • to Blue Dots in Romania which provides protection, basic care, and health care to Ukrainian women and children who have fled their homes.

Our goal

The voestalpine cares run was given on April 15, 2023—the weekend of the Linz Marathon in which 160 employees were also actively involved. Cares points are collected for the duration of the initiative, which ends on June 30, 2023. The goal is to have as many employees as possible contribute to release the maximum donation sum.

The voestalpine sites are committed to social responsibility. The voestalpine cares run is a way for us to bundle our social engagement worldwide. Employees are pooling their athletic prowess to help make the world a better place.
